Arg! I hope neither of those scenarios comes to pass. This vote is certainly too close to call (at least before hand -- ask me tomorrow about the events of today and I can give you 100 reasons why they were inevitable) and the mere fact that it is close can give the UK greater power at the bargaining table in EU relations.
Many of the EU trade policies are harmful, or rather, they help one group at the expense of others. It's good if you're already producing curved bananas, but not so good if you happen to be out of favor.
I think I hope that the UK stays, but I'm torn. If they do decide to leave, I hope they join NAFTA because that would be a win-win for both countries.
Yeah I feel like that too, like if the UK can go insane it's not impossible for the US anymore @_@ Hope that's not the case. I feel so awful for the people caught up in this.
