No Patience

I'm discovering that there are things that I just seem to have a hard time with in books, even in the early critting stages where more patience is needed in general. I feel like a real bitch about it, but I find I just can't crit certain things, and I'm sure that makes me a bad person. :P ( Read more... )

Excellent post, Domy. Worthy words that every beginning writer should read.

ROTFL!!!!

And this is where my problem with the dialogue I need to work in for A.C. comes in. Because of the contact with "modern earth", I need to be able to use "modern language". Problem is, in A.C. the REASONS for that modern language aren't mentioned and have no place to be mentioned, so people are always telling me when the way the characters speak is too modern. It's a puzzle I haven't found a way around, but I need to, because it all comes up in book 2 (one of the characters is an actual cross over).

I'm thinking the non-human races would be less influenced by it all, but still, having Dimas say, "Are you okay?" bothers people. lol
