[aidan_mutou makes a surprise visit to New York and doesn't waste a moment in catching up with seto_kaiba_. Stage magic is but one of the themes that carries through the weekend of opera, a movie, conversation, and of course, dinner.

There is something about Seto’s attempts to recalibrate himself in regards to situations that always invokes understanding as well as the strange urge to compare his actions to whatever Pegasus’ take on the matter would have been. Aidan on the other hand with his top hat, cane and appropriate smokage in hand makes for a wonderful mental image, which isn’t to gloss over the absolute truth of behaving like you have every damn right to be there and so on. Especially since it’s that attitude that once upon a time let me swan into Tiffany’s on Bond Street to sneer at the pearls just because I wanted to see if they’d let me through the door.

I actually read this several days ago in way too little available time to do it justice; so I went back this evening and reread it again at my leisure. Gorgeous. It's such a fantastic thing to watch these two playing like this, from the magic trick at the beginning to the half-serious banter at the very end. It pretty much sucked me right in; I watched it with a bunch of friends who tend to talk through most DVDs we have playing, and I remember coming up for air at one point and realizing that everybody was sitting totally silent, watching and listening. The talk between Seto and Aidan about perception was very appropriate to the ( ... )

Very, very enjoyable log. The comments above me are right - this one feels different, and Aidan in particular feels like he's changed a fair amount. The comfort level between them both is notably greater, there's less painful stops on both parts, and some of those that are there aren't caused by each other. The commentary on conduit metaphor had me sidetracked into reading the linked post for some time; and Seto's choice of restaurant was quite amusing. My favorite moment was the boldness inherent in snatching Seto's phone from his hand - and in the candor that both men were able to offer in the conversation afterwards. ♥
