[Scene: The following is a transcript of an e-mail exchange spanning from Monday, April 23, to Thursday, April 26, 2007. Concerned about Miw's health, Tristan contacts the first person he thinks could answer his questions. Rated G for a lot of cat lady gabbing.]

**evil snicker** Oh man... been YEARS since I had to go through that, but it's not like it's something you ever forget. "MIYOOOOWWWWWWLLLL!!!" and then all the little BRRT! BRRT! BRRT! noises. Never again, I swear. Didja know that breeders use a 'birth-control' shot for their queens (breeding females) that mimics pregnancy? Makes the cat's body *think* she's been bred, so they go out of heat; the same shot's used for ferrets, so I found out about it when I had a whole female many years ago, Tansey.

As for the rest of the log... **thoughtful** That was really well done. It did feel healthy finally setting things to rest like that from Tristan's end; good term for it, and Duke seems so happy (well, guess I would too with a new pet bunny like Quinn. ^__^) Good log, very clear and neatly done.

The siamese kitten I rescued late last winter went into heat before we could get her in to have her spayed. I've dealt with cats in heat before, but Jojo's round is definitely going to stick with me. She's who I used as an example, along with about sixty different Youtube vids of cats in heat. XD

I didn't know about the birth control shots! Would that have any bearing on the statistics that say unspayed female cats are at higher risk for reproductive cancers? I mean... those statistics are sort of Captain Obvious - spayed females don't have most of their reproductive organs, so of course they can't develop cancer... but I was wondering if the birth control shots could help lower the risk too. It seems less risky and invasive than having a pet spayed.

It does feel like things (on Tristan's part, at least) are getting steadily healthier, and he's a darn sight better than he was when he first appeared here. Duke was always more mature about it, Tristan's just been exceedingly slow at playing catch-up. ^^'

This was a fun and very real log, I apologize but I am on a role of going back and commenting on logs. I would have to say that the whole " CGive me kittens, you sexy beast" was priceless.
