OK, I know this is just the first appearance of this thing, and it's a long way from being passed, or even getting any kind of legitimacy. BUT: Who in bloody blue blazes is the Secretary of State that would even allow such a thing past them and into this stage???? SRSLY!?!

The Secretary of State who describes this measures as "Exempts speech based on biblical authority from existing constitutional and statutory restrictions applicable to all other speech, including restrictions against discrimination and hate crimes. Repeals constitutional provision denying protection to acts of religious expression inconsistent with the peace or safety of the State." That's the Official wording on the ballot. And the fellow is Edmund G. Brown Jr, who's set to become California Governor again next week. =)

But it isn't on the ballot yet, correct? I did some poking on the CA Secretary of State's website, and found the process by which these things go from a hare-brained idea to showing up on a ballot. (http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/ballot-measures/initiative-guide.htm... )

This hasn't got a hope in hell of becoming law because it will not pass any constitutional challenge at all. It violates the freedom of religion clause of the American constitution, whichever one it is. (I am not American, so while I have read pretty much all of it, I do not have it memorized. I can look it up. And so can anyone.)

No, it won't. But most important is the "Repeals constitutional provision denying protection to acts of religious expression inconsistent with the peace or safety of the State," part which is Jerry Brown's Official description btw. That is the 'terrorism' part and will be struck down the hardest...if the measure actually passes.

Brown is a subtle fucker. This has passed muster to this point, so he's letting it out into the larger arena of public discourse, where it's true intent - Death To The Unbelievers! - can be fully aired.

..I think I shall call it the "Death To The Unbelievers Act"..lol
