Obligatory passive-aggressive holiday-related post

I don't want dipshits thinking they can pinch me just because a holiday tradition says I'm supposed to wear a certain color today (which I'm not).

Other than that, the only thing St. Patrick's Day means to me is that my birthday is in a few days. :D

Don't you know the REAL history of St. Patrick's day? It's a PAGAN holiday, of course!

All holidays are descended from Pagan holidays - it's like in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, how all words are really from Greek roots! All holidays are really from Pagan roots! St. Patrick's Day celebrates the guy who chased all the snakes out of Ireland, which is good, 'cause all the Pagans were waiting to CATCH the snakes and use them for their Pagan tree-worshipping rituals! So the Pagans started dyeing all the rivers in Chicago green in honor of the snakes, which were greenish if you squinted and looked at them in the right light, and they called it Greenriverhain, and the next thing you know, the Irish had co-opted the holiday and were brazenly pretending it had been an Irish day all along!

It's my sister's dog's "birthday" (the day he got rescued by the humane society) and they named him Patrick in honor of it... so that's the only reason I like St. Patrick's Day.

I'm really glad I don't work in beer/wine tonight. :P
