"Gay rights are the new Civil Rights to fight for. This is going to be just like the 60's when African Americans were fighting for their rights. It's a prejudice and it needs to be stopped. People are people, and we all have the right to the same things, regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation. Those things mean nothing; they're just facts ( Read more... )

No, thank you. Sometimes I have a hard time finding the words to state how I feel and you seem to just do it for me.

Wow, that's one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me! Thank you.

So I was watching the movie, "Happiness" last night, and all the while I was thinking about the Gay Rights issue, and the arguement that they're just people and they deserve to be treated fairly and should be able to wed and blah blah blah. And then I began to think, what about those people who's only desire is to sleep with little boys, or who get off on rape. Do they deserve they're happiness too? It's all about morality, if loving someone of the same sex makes you happy then thats fine, but that doesn't mean its right. Just how its not right for an adult male to have sexual relations with a male child, or any child for that matter.

Whoa. Now that's taking it many steps too far. I never, ever said anything about any of that. And I would never say that. And there is ALWAYS people who will take it to that level.

But what God-given right do you have to deny a human being happiness because of who he loves? You are not to judge ... you are not THE judge. There is only one and I don't care what anyone says, man, who has been known to get many things wrong, wrote the Bible and I believe included their own prejudices in there.

One of my best friends is Gay. And he is such a good person. A better person then most Christians I know. And if God were to deny him eternity in heaven because of who he loved here on Earth then I wouldn't want anything to do with that God. MY God, the God I love and stand by in everything, would never do such a thing. MY God is an AWESOME God. He knows I would gladly give up my place in heaven for my friend who is a better person then even me ( ... )

I don't want to butt in, or start any arguements, but whoa. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean that makes them a pedophile! I know a lot of gay people and not one of them would ever even consider messing with a child. And keep in mind that there's a lot of pedophillic men who target young girls. More than target young boys, I think, though I don't know for sure. Being gay isn't a choice, it's in the DNA. Pedophilia is a sickness, a disease. There's a huge difference. To think that they are one and the same is just...I'm sorry to say this because I don't know you at all, but it's ignorance.

Erika, I'm sorry I had to voice my opinion on this. I saw in your response that you don't want this to turn into an arguement in your journal, but I just couldn't sit here and not say anything. I promise to not fight.

Quite alright. Don't worry about it at all. I just don't want it to turn into an agrument over people telling me I'm wrong for what I believe. This is my journal and this issue is one thing I stand firm behind and there is nothing anyone can say to change my belief in it. I know you mostly believe the same as I, so I'm not worried about you. 8)
