You have such a shit-eating grin on your face. By the time my picture was taken he had a smile plastered on his face; yours is more natural. But you are so right-it was a wonderfully thrilling weekend. One none of us will forget. Thanks for leading the way.

That's fantastic! Sounds like the trip was a success. Sorry you didn't get to meet John, but how cool that you saw Russell! I love that he had to "get back to writing"... just being close to that kind of artistic mind would be surreal. Do you mind if I ask what you talked about when it came to QAF? Did he ask you questions, or did you discuss any specifics?

I think he was a bit fascinated that we met as a result of being fans of QAF-US and were now making plans and traveling together. He was a little curious about who had seen the UK version and who had only seen the US version.

We talked a lot about the actors. He asked specifically about Gale, Randy and Hal and was curious about what projects they were up to. We mentioned Gale's recent accident, Randy's tAB and that Hal seemed to have returned to stand-up and his band. He was a little bemused to realize that some there did not like Hal.

He spoke of Ron and Dan, saying they were a "lovely couple" and I guess someone's expression said something to him when he brought them up because he asked, "you're not happy with Ron and Dan?" He was definitely amused when I explained that the source of people's unhappiness with them was because they broke Brian and Justin up in the finale. :)

Thanks! Sounds like a very lively and interesting conversation. I'm one of the people who see the ending of the series as a continuation of the status quo for B&J, not a breakup, but everyone has their own take on it. I suppose Mr. Davies has heard some of them himself!

I agree. I didn't see it as a permanent end to their relationship, but as a temporary separation... much like the trip to Hollywood. But I know that a lot of people were upset because they weren't seen together in the end and that Justin wasn't in the final Babylon shot.
