1. has managed almost completely to avoid the taint in the Archer bloodline, which means that, while he does not have any link with the Powers that Dwell Beneath the Earth, he also has no gift for farming, and very little common sense. Still, at least he doesn't traffick with the powers of darkness.

2. is secretly afraid of the twins, Freddie and Lily - he can sense the Archer taint in others instinctively, and can see what they are destined to become. Cathy teases him about being terrified of cherubic schoolchildren, but he knows what he knows.

3. has decided, rather against expectations, that his true love is greasy-spoon cookery. He has won the Borchester All-Comers' Bacon Buttie Making Cup for the third year in succession, and has vowed never to let the cup slip into other hands.

1. didn't completely give up on Narcissa until after the final battle for Hogwarts, when she realised how deeply Lucius and Narcissa were involved.

2. loves all her in-laws, except Ted's elder sister, who cannot hide her distrust of anybody who has not been to University.

3. minded having a werewolf son-in-law much less than Ted did - though she deeply regrets that Lupin died before she had a chance to do any really thorough research on his condition.

1. secretly wishes he was a Klingon

2. is descended from a long line of Starfleet non-commissioned officers. His puzzled parents can't quite decide whether to be proud that their son has risen as high as second-in-command of the flagship, or to be embarrassed that their child has now become One of Them.

3. is terrified of jellyfish - one of the attractions of space travel is that a hard vacuum is a very hostile environment for jellyfish.

1. is on much better terms with the heads of the Brandybuck family than Frodo or Merry knows. His existence and abode in the forest are a secret only known to the six senior Brandybucks.

2. is a lot more sane and less scatty than Elrond thinks. In fact, Elrond's superior airs are what makes Tom Bombadil so scatty around him in the first place.

3. Tom Bombadil and Goldberry are actually one and the same person. On the few occasions when you do see them together in canon, it is actually a special earth-magic, done with river-water, candles and mirrors.

1. was quite a heartthrob in his youth, when he was ruggedly handsome, brave, sarcastic and only slightly battered.

2. could have had a lot more of his injuries Healed, but decided not to because of the psychological effect on his enemies.

3. is a very secret poet. He has Obliviated more than one colleague who caught him at it when he thought he was alone. (and, sad to say, he really isn't that good as a poet, so it was probably a wise decision).
