I was searching the Grimoire site for some cool stuff the other day (they have sale now, so check it out ^^) and I found this picture of one of the models wearing a very Steampunk looking necklace, they were selling the necklace on the Grimoire site. one of the great things about dolly-kei and its ilk is that they're such individualist fashions. you can really see personal taste and style come through in what people choose to wear, there is no absolute set of 'rules' to restrict clothing choice. it's about the overall aesthetic and mood. so with that, i think if someone likes steampunk and can fluidly incorporate it into dolly-kei, it's fine! have fun with it.
that's a really cute necklace, too.

It is a great development, but I think Dolly is a style in which you are able to incoorporate a lot of other styles, like steampunk!

I agree with everyone Dolly Kei is great at mixing with other styles. it pairs especially well with other Victorian styles. like Prairie or Steampunk.

I personally love it, since I got into lolita and dolly kei and other fashions like that through steampunk. I think it would be easy to incorporate steampunk into dolly, especially through things like accessories.
