And if Anne folds it - maybe a little more carefully than one tends to fold handkerchiefs, the corners pressed gently together, overlapped like a kiss - and tucks it away in her dresser, well, then, it’s purely practical. One can never have too many handkerchiefs.

Oh, Anne. Gosh, Anne and Gilbert still just get me where I live. Excellent. (and haha, Marilla so would be a genuis at stain removal)

Oh, man, Anne and Gil never go out of style. ♥ And Marilla so would be a genius at EVERYTHING! She is seriously just one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, I loooove her! Every time her practical spinstery heart melts a little bit thanks to Anne, be it in book or movie, it punches me right in the feelings. But in the nicest way possible.

Oh man, this was absolutely delightful! I've never read Anne of Green Gables fic before, but good lord, this made me smile like a loon through the entire thing and it was just so, so, SO Anne that I felt such an affection for the prose. I can't even explain it. It's like the words were her, and I just wanted to hang out with the words forever and ever and be their bosom friend. Ooooh, the way she obsessed over wanting to call the wind a zephyr! The way she refused to acknowledge her fluttery feelings for Gilbert! And oh Gilbert. Oh how he stole my heart in this. Not that he didn't have it before, but still. You captured his sweetness and his glibness and his effortless yet frustrating love for Anne Shirley so beautifully. And I love the handkerchief moment and how it was completely simple yet so very romantic because it was Anne and Gilbert and Anne romanticizes everything, and yet she refuses to consciously romanticize anything Gilbert does, while at the same time she knows it's the most romantic thing in the world.
