Dressed in Holiday Style

Dec 04, 2010 17:18

All our decorating got done earlier this week, and I'm just a little excited (meaning, bouncing around like crazy), because I really love holiday decorations more than anyone should be allowed to. And in amongst all of the shiny baubles and the wreaths and the tree, my holiday dollies all got to come out, so today, I ran around and took pictures of ( Read more... )

All of these dolls are gorgeous, and really seem to bring out the spirit of the season. You have quite an impressive collection of Holiday Barbies. I remember them being hard to find a few years back.
The Winter Fantasy doll really does look like a less evil version of the White Witch. I kind of want her now for that reason. :-)

Thank you! :) My collection of holiday dollies I mostly owe to two of my great aunts and to my grandmother - they always supported my doll collecting (one great aunt actually started it), and every year, one of them either found me that year's holiday doll or sent me the money so that I could get her myself. My great aunt who started my collection also gave me the Hallmark Barbie ornaments for years, so I have a bunch of pretty little versions of the dolls on my tree. <3 It was so sweet of them, I miss that a lot sometimes.

I love the Winter Fantasy doll. She really does remind me of Narnia and a winter wonderland. Her box was also one of the coolest ever, she's one of the few things I really had trouble deboxing for a while. idk if you can see the wintery looking tree next to her (and next to the swan ballerina, one stands between them), but those trees came in her box. They're so cool, they even have these tiny little stand bases. I think she's the only Barbie I've ever seen who came with removable props that weren't cardboard. She ( ... )

I loves her. I always call her the "ribbon" doll because her dress looks like...ribbons. Obviously? (Those things that stuck up off the back of her, though? Yeah, those are pinned down behind her hair because I'm not fond of them. lol) She was one of my FAVORITES when I was little, I was so excited because she was a brunette ZOMG. And the brunette was the standard version of the doll, I was beside myself. I think she's still the only brunette they've made as the wide release Holiday doll. I have her Christmas tree ornament too (I have a bunch of those :c), and I always thought she was the prettiest. xD

Thank you! :) The winter Snow White is probably my favorite Snow White I own (next to the 17" doll they released last year with the Diamond Edition DVD, because she's really beautiful) - and that's saying a lot because...well...I have a lot of Snow Whites. xD The brocade of her skirt and the way they did the snowflake collar is so elegant. I'm glad you mentioned the flapper doll because I ADORE her. I absolutely love fashions from the 1920s and 1930s and she is so, so pretty. I have a porcelain figure of her that my aunt gave me, as well. (If you ever want to add her to your collection, you should be able to find her for a reasonable price on Ebay.) ;) <333

The disney girls looks so beautiful! I love the Barbie angels :) Swan Princess barbie is so pretty *__* I miss old!Barbie's face mould sometimes XD

I know what you mean about the ribbons poking out of Holiday Barbie's shoulders...I really like your alteration :)I remember her as my first collector doll XD I begged for her for Christmas that year, and I remember my parents obliged XD I think that year I also got Teacher Barbie. I still have Holiday boxed. She's to the left of me right now XD I just realized that most of the other Holiday Barbies are blonde, you're right XDD

I LOVE your icon. :)

And thank you so much! The Disney girls are so special. <3 I miss old!Barbie's face mould sometimes So do I! I honestly don't think her newer face(s) is/are as classical or pretty sometimes.

In the box, the ribbons weren't so bad (as far as I remember), but when I took her out, they were kind of extreme. xD She looked like they were growing out of her shoulders, it was a bit odd. She lived in her box for many years until I was finally bad and deboxed her. :c That's so sweet that she was your first collector doll. I always think the first are very special. I know I got a 'play' Barbie that year, too, but I can't seem to remember which one. That was also the time when Barbie made the Fashion Avenue clothes, do you remember those? I LOVED the outfits they made in that line over the course of a few years so much, I'm still convinced they were the loveliest play fashion packs ever. xD
