This made me remember an amusing "you show me yours, I'll show you mine" moment. I was camping at Pennsic with some friends. One night, one of those friends* earned some Mardi Gras beads the old fashioned way - she flashed someone for them. Later in the evening, we ended up at a rather large party, and guys were hitting on her and trying to get her to show them her boobs. When it was established that they had no beads to give to her if she did this, she quipped, "Show me your junk, I'll give you some beads, then I'll show you my tits, and you can give me some beads!" They blinked at her a few times, thought about it for awhile, and ultimately complied with her request. I'm still amused that the guys had to think about it.

I was on the way back from an SCA event with two male friends when we decided to grab a hotel room for the night and continue in the morning. We settled in, and the guys immediately turned the TV to soft-core porn on Cinemax. I said, "HEY! No fair, there's no full frontal nudity for me." One of the guys shot back, "Walk out this door and ask the next ten men you meet to show you their junk. I am putting money on 9 out of 10 of them doing it."

Figuring he'd win that bet, and being too tired to ask ten men to show me their goods, I opted for a long hot bath that evening. :D

Heh. It'd be great to see old faces. Sadly, my vacation is all accounted for this year.

These excerpts are fascinating in an anthropological way. Also interesting insights into 'hetero' culture. Hard to imagine that any of these people have any luck, i.e are attractive to each other.

I also think they're interesting from a sociological/anthropological point of view. I had forgotten just how disappointing yet fun dating is.

It's curious. Carol and I met on OKCupid and five years later we're still plugging along. Then, again, we never did the sexual seduction dance online. My general impression from online dating is that anyone who came on strongly sexually before they had ever met me was someone I wanted to avoid like the plague.

Yes, I'm more of a "screw this chatting, let's grab coffee" type. The whole point of this exercise (for me, at least) is to get out of the house and meet people. I don't expect to find the next love of my life; I do hope to meet some neat and get invited to parties, where I will hopefully meet the next love of my life. ;)
