Well, last night having been the exciting adventure that it was, it was with quite a smug expression on his face that Topher returned to his room toward early afternoon - though the smugness was slightly dialed back now that he was on the lookout for fake kids again

The smug mood might shortly be interrupted.

"Hey Dad," Buzz said from the door. "What's up? Can I have some money?"

"Oh, man, another one?" Topher said, looking up from his computer in surprise. "Whose are you?"

"Yours," Buzz answered, just to be a brat. "Weren't you listening?"

[dollpocalypse]

"Yeah, besides me," Topher said, squinting at him. "So I know who to text to maybe give you money. It's not someone I hate, is it?"

Natalie seemed a little busy, and Cassidy was having fun exploring the dorms. They were different from how they'd be once she'd actually go to school here herself.

And, hey, familiar face!

"Hey there, Uncle Topher."

"What? Another one? What?" Smooth, Topher. "I don't even have siblings."

Look at the face, Topher! Does it look familiar?

"Well, I guess it's more like an honorary uncle thing," Cassidy mused, traipsing in. Because Kate. "Not an actual blood relation."

But her hair was red! It was hard to identify facial features that belonged on blonde people.

Topher wasn't the most visual learner. Though the voice, however, did sound a little bit familiar.

"So... you belong to people I like?"

Considering that the last time he'd seen Kate, he'd tased her... ahahahahahaha.
