Title: 8 kisses
Genre: Fluff, Romance
Rating: PG
Pairing: Hankyung / Heechul
Summary: The eighth time they kissed was the kiss where they stopped counting….

A/N: Oh my godd~ I'm so tired -_-. I haven't slept in 48 hours, but I refused to go to bed until I finished writing this (so I apologize ahead of time for possibly crappy editing) and I'm so freaking out of it right now. It was originally supposed to be nine kisses, but...I don't think I can keep my head up for another minute. *sigh* Reviews are lovely (I worked my ASS off on this, so hopefully someone will like it) and all that crap. Blah blah blah. I'm going to go to bed now~
Enjoy!

The first time they kissed, it was for the fanservice….

-On stage, live for the first time, blinding lights, adrenaline highs…they all felt it. Once everyone had gathered outside near their bus, despite being exhausted and sweaty and drained, a celebration was inevitable. The cameras had followed them to the restaurant (this being their debut concert and all) and recorded the groups’ close knit relationships at work. Sungmin, Shindong, Donghae, and Eunhyuk were all bouncing and hugging and yelling, spreading their excitement with their contagious laughter. Ryeowook watched as Eeteuk, Yesung, and Kangin fought for the camera’s attention, and Kibum ordered himself another drink. Heechul had grabbed Siwon from one of the bar stools and he had, in turn, dragged a stuttering Hankyung along with him to go camerawhore in the background somewhere. Siwon wound his arms around Heechul’s waist as Heechul poked and annoyed Hankyung, and pretty soon the camera crew caught on and moved to capture them instead. Siwon laughed giddily into Heechul’s ear, squeezing his sides, and overcome with sudden impulse, the oldest of the three pulled Hankyung’s face to his and gave him a sloppy, exaggerated kiss - first kiss, Hankyung thought morosely - and cackled gleefully in Siwon’s surprised hold. Unfortunately, Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Shindong had started a dance-off just a few seconds before and Sungmin’s shouts of excitement had drawn the cameraman away.
The only person other then themselves who knew of the kiss was Siwon.
Hankyung had lost his virgin lips for nothing.-

The second time they kissed, it was an accident….

- It had been a long, tiring day, and Heechul was in one of his off moods. He sat on the loveseat in the living room of Hankyung, Kibum, and his shared apartment, arms moodily crossed over his chest as he watched the latest episode of some sappy drama that he had insisted on watching as soon as he had walked in the door. Hankyung came home about an hour into it, the interruption disturbing Heechul’s determined pouting.
“Hungry?” he mumbled, slipping off his shoes.
“Well, considering I haven’t eaten for twenty-four hours…” Heechul said bitterly, picking at the remote with his nails.
“Is curry alright?” the other asked, oblivious to the oldest’s tone.
“Beijing fried rice would be better….” But Hankyung either didn’t hear or ignored his request and set out to make dinner for both of them. Heechul found this quite irritating and decided that it just wasn’t fair that he was the only one in the household who wasn’t in a good mood (misery loves company). He cornered Hankyung near the refrigerator where the the other was taking out an onion.
“Heechul?”
“I don’t want curry.”
“But…why?”
“Because your curry sucks.” Hankyung looked affronted for a second before he began to glare down at the elder.
“Don’t take out your bad day on me, okay?”
“I’m not. I just don’t want to add to my already pretty shitty day with your pretty disgusting curry.”
“Then you don’t have to eat it, alright princess?” Hankyung hissed, a headache already settling itself in his temples.
“Make me Beijing fried rice instead.”
“No. You’ve already pissed me off, and I don’t have enough of the ingredients anyway.”
“I bet you’d make if for Siwon if he asked,” Heechul whispered angrily under his breath.
“Excuse me?”
“No, nothing. It’s nothing.” When Hankyung didn’t pursue the topic and instead pushed his way around Heechul, the moody boy decided to continue anyway. “It’s just that you and Siwon have been so touchy-feely lately.”
“What are you going on about now?” Hankyung sighed, finally taking it upon himself to calm his fellow member down. “Siwon’s just like that. I mean, he does it to you too.”
“Yeah, but you’re not like that. And you don’t do that to me.”
“Because you’re not Siwon-”
“Aha! See? There, you admitted it! I knew something was going on!”
“Look, you know that’s not what I meant,” Hankyung said somewhat desperately (for reasons even he couldn’t figure out). “Heechul. Heechul! Hey! Watch where your flailing your arms or you’ll-”
“Crap,” Heechul muttered, staring down at his hand which was suddenly covered in curry sauce.
“Great,” Hankyung said. “Just great.”
“This is just a sign that you should’ve made fried rice,” Heechul insisted. “Hand me a towel, idiot.” Hankyung complied, spinning around to grab the washcloth hanging from the drawer handle. When he turned around, however, Heechul must have decided to follow him because suddenly they were chest-to-chest, face-to-face with Heechul’s lips pressed awkwardly up against the side of his jaw.
When they had finally sat down at the table, curry and chopsticks laid out before them, Heechul finally muttered, “Don’t mention that to anyone."
And Hankyung was in so much shock that he even forgot to mock the other for eating his curry.-

The third time they kissed, they were both drunk….

-It was the combination of cheap beer and an after-concert high that made them do it. Kibum had laid his head down on the counter in drowsiness some time ago, and Heechul had found it the perfect opportunity to test out his new Sharpie skills. Hankyung chuckled a few times in between sips of his drink but found himself staring more at the way Heechul somehow glowed under the dim lighting than what the other was actually trying to show him - Kibum, Heechul reasoned, would not appreciate his artistic skills as much as Hankyung.
It was sudden even for himself, but the question had come out anyway and he would berate himself for days - weeks - later on about why, even then, he didn't want to take it back.
"Can I kiss you?"
It had taken Heechul a full five seconds of staring - one minute of laughing - until he abruptly grabbed Hankyung's face, pushing their foreheads together.
"Stupid," he whispered. "Stupid Hankyung." And he kissed him.
And Hankyung's heart fluttered - just a little bit - before Heechul promptly passed out cold on the counter next to Kibum.-

The fourth time they kissed, it was for a Rainbow Romance rehearsal….

-"Ask Kibum," Hankyung said immediately, not even sparing his elder a glance as he continued to type a message to his fans in his cyworld.
"But Kibum's a lousy kisser~" Heechul whined, dropping down onto his knees to sit next to the younger man.
Hankyung's fingers stilled over the keyboard, eyes swiveling to stare incredulously at the other. "Excuse me? But, um...did I misunderstand something?"
Heechul blinked. "Your Korean shouldn't be that bad."
Hankyung ignored the dig, focusing instead on the other's abnormal facet of calmness. "You kissed him? You kissed Kibum?!"
"Well, jeez, you don't have to say it like that. You act as if it's disgusting to kiss someone." Heechul moved Hankyung's computer mouse around on its pad for a second before clicking open a new window, typing in his own cyworld URL.
"Kissing someone isn't...but your own group member? Of the same gender?!" Hankyung batted Heechul's hand away from his laptop. "How come I never heard of this before? Is this some sort of Korean thing that I haven't found out about yet?"
"No, stupid." Heechul rolled his eyes. "I didn't kiss him because I'm Korean. I kissed him because I'm gay."
"Oh," Hankyung said, shock-waves shaking his mind as he took in this information. "Oh."
"Yeah. Oh. So anyway, could you please help me out with this? It'll just be this one time, I promise. Please?"
And because he didn't want to sound like he was saying no due to his friend's new found - or not so new, apparently - sexuality, he agreed. Heechul grinned wolfishly, turning his body to face Hankyung's so that they were sitting facing each other.
"Well, in this scene, the girl - that's you - has just kind of poured her heart out to me and we've had this really long lovey-dovey talk, yadda yadda yadda, and I'm supposed to...run my hand through her hair...like this," Heechul demonstrated the action, "and then we just...sorta lean in and, well, kiss~ Got it?"
"Um, I-I think so. Yeah," Hankyung stuttered nervously, unable to shake the funny feeling in his stomach whenever Heechul's fingers moved against his face.
"Okay, so anyway, love confession, a little bit of crying, okay, got it, moving on.... And then the kiss...."
Heechul slowly tipped his head to the side, lips moving closer and closer to Hankyung's own. Heechul was in his personal space - and that can do funny things to anyone, really - and that weird, nervous, butterfly thing going on in his stomach suddenly burst into a crescendo of something intense as soon as their lips touched, and in a matter of seconds, Hankyung had pushed Heechul square in the chest, sending the other back into the floor.
"YAH! What was that fo-"
"Ask Kibum," Hankyung demanded carefully, shakily almost. Heechul stared at him for a second, waiting for him to explain before shaking his head in disappointment.
"You're an asshole, you know that?" But he stood up to go ask Kibum for help anyway.
Five minutes later, Hankyung sat in the same spot, fingers still poised gently over his lips, waiting for the butterflies to die down.-

The fifth time they kissed, it was Heechul’s fault….

-Not that it wasn't, somehow, Heechul's fault every other time they kissed (Hankyung thought it was strange that he could say that), but this time, there wasn't a single other cause that he could blame it on other than Heechul.
The entire group had been working through their dance steps in the practice room for a few hours or so when Heechul suddenly declared it 'break time' and sauntered off without a word to the bathroom. Eeteuk had stared after the other in bewilderment, confusion written all of his face, before sending Hankyung to go fetch the wandering member and inform him that it was not, in fact, break time yet.
It hadn't taken long to hunt the older boy down - he had recently taken to singing DBSK's new single 'Purple Line' wherever he went lately (at music practice, in the shower, in his sleep) - and Hankyung spotted him somewhere across the front foyer, chatting up one of the company's new assistants.
"Heechul! Get over here, Eeteuk-sshi wants you." Heechul ignored him though, instead smiling coyly at the girl, slipping a small piece of paper into her hand. Hankyung saw her face light up, and some sort of animalistic feeling - possessiveness, he would learn to call it later - flared up inside him, and faster than either of the other two could react, he had Heechul's wrist in his grip and was dragging him back down the hallway.
"YAH! Are you crazy?! What are doing?"
"I'd like to ask you the same thing, Heechul-hyung. You suddenly annouce that you're going to 'take a break' and leave to go off and flirt with some random girl?! I thought you were g-"
"Shut up," he hissed, yanking his hand out of Hankyung's. "I am. Jeez, I was simply attempting to get us a connection with Hodong for his new show, 'X-Man'." He rubbed his wrists in agitation. "I'd been talking with her earlier and she told me to meet her there at one. It wasn't like I was hitting on her or anything."
Hankyung suddenly felt extremely stupid and tried to cover it up by throwing out a random excuse - ''Well, Eeteuk wants you anyway," - but Heechul caught the blush spreading like wildfire across his face and insisted on pointing it out. Quite loudly, at that.
"AHA! You were jealous, weren't you?" Heechul hooked his arm through Hankyung's. "Don't worry, Hannie. You're the only one for me." Hankyung stopped, heart beating furiously in his chest, and stared down at his crazy friend.
"Good," he whispered, planting his lips on Heechul's.
For arguments sake, you could say that it was all Hankyung's fault, being the one to actually do the kissing and all.
But Heechul's a tease, and one can't really blame Hankyung for falling for it - him.-

The sixth time they kissed, it was Eeteuk’s fault….

-And there really wasn't much left to say except for maybe the group bonding activity, the pairing off of members, and the playing of the game 'truth or dare'. All of which was their beloved leader-sshi's idea.-

------

------

The seventh time they kissed, it was to say goodbye….

-He was jealous; jealous that Hankyung got to be in a sub-group, be the leader of a sub-group, and travel across the world. Of course, he had no right to be jealous - he was in Super Junior T, after all - but that didn't mean that he wasn't.
He didn't like to think much on the topic - it made his heart hurt in ways he had never felt before, for some odd reason - so therefore avoiding Hankyung (who reminded him of the whole ordeal every time he saw the other) seemed like the obvious solution. It was an easier thing to do now that Hankyung had moved out of their apartment and he, himself, had taken to sleeping over at Eeteuk and Kangin's place in favor of their empty house, and soon his mind had almost completely forgotten about Super Junior M and China and everything that Hankyung was a part of.
Well, almost meaning that sometimes he thought about it when he went to bed. And when he woke up. And when he was dancing in the practice rooms. And a few other times that were probably not worth mentioning because, honestly, forgetting it all was the best solution. Really, it was.
And then the day that Super Junior M (plus Henry and Zhou Mi - because Heechul refused to call them part of Super Junior) was set to leave, Heechul realized that he was going to have to face Hankyung sooner or later because, as much as he wanted to, Eeteuk wouldn't let him lock himself up in his room and pout.
He had hugged Siwon (well, Siwon had hugged him), ruffled Wookie's hair, exchanged a few words of goodbye with Kyuhyun, and gave Donghae a friendly punch on the shoulder, watching them turn and group up at the terminal entrance. His throat felt sore and his cheeks were hot and he reasoned he was coming down with something when suddenly he felt hands on his face, forcing him to look up from the ground - had he been looking at the ground? He hadn't noticed....
"I'll miss you."
"Well, I won't," Heechul chuckled hoarsely, wondering if his sudden sickness included voice loss.
"I know. But I will." It was silent for a few seconds and Heechul was about to turn and leave when two of Hankyung's fingers moved to trace over his eyebrow, sliding down to brush the other's slightly chapped lips. "Don't forget me?"
"I won't," Heechul repeated, cursing himself for letting his guard down and allowing himself to cry.
"I'll see you later," Hankyung said softly, pressing his mouth to Heechul's forehead. And even as he walked away, Heechul refused to say goodbye.
It wasn't goodbye, after all - it couldn't be, he wouldn't let it be - but rather a simple parting of ways, a road (a different road) that each of them must take.
Heechul could only hope that their paths would eventually cross again.-

The eighth time they kissed was the kiss where they stopped counting….

-"Do you think Super Junior will ever end?" They're laying outside on the grassy hill near their newly bought apartment, hands threaded loosely together as they stare up at the clouds floating by.
"It has to end. I mean, all groups like this end. We were never made to be forever."
Heechul sighs, pulling his hand out of the other's grasp to in turn play with the ring encircling Hankyung's index finger. "I know. I mean, obviously, I know. But I'm not talking about the groups or the fans or the music."
Hankyung understands, of course - he always understands Heechul, just as Heechul always understands him - and mulls the question over seriously this time, thinking honestly about the answer. "I think...that SM Entertainment's Super Junior will end, yes. I know it will." Heechul's heart stings a little, but he thinks 'we're not over yet' and spins the ring idly around Hankyung's finger.
"But," the other continues, re-tangling their fingers together, gripping tighter than before, "I believe that Eeteuk, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Yesung, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Siwon, Kibum...you....me.... I believe that we'll stick through it. We've grown to be so much of a part of each other, I guess it'd be a little bit difficult to just up and leave - like leaving a piece of yourself. So no, no I don't think Super Junior will ever end. Not really."
Heechul smiles languidly, basking in the soft hum of summer, turning on his side to curl up next to Hankyung. "Good," he says, kissing him lightly on the cheek. They sit like that for hours, unmoving until the sky begins to bleed orange and red and the sun starts to sink down behind the surrounding houses. Eeteuk scolds them as the come back in, pointing to the refrigerator while saying something about 'leftovers', but they ignore him, smiling secretly at each other.
Super Junior will never end. Not until the day they die. And that makes them happy. More so than any concert or amount of fans or bank account of money ever could.
But that's what love is, they guess.
Everlasting.
