This story just keeps getting better and better.

I do have a question, though, if you don't mind. I went a reread it from the beginning over on FF.net because I'd missed a few bits and I'm not quite sure how the first chapter fits into the rest. It seems like it's set in modern times and the subsequent chapters are in the Feudal Era have I misread that? Is it more of a prologue for the story?
