Close, so close. He took another step forward. ‘This is the day’, he had told himself. He can stand no longer. The miko will know of his heart’s desire today. ‘This Sesshoumaru will not be refused.’ His hand clenched at the bouquet in his hand.
Little by little, he understood what his father found so fascinating about human now. They were strange creatures indeed. ‘Perhaps it was their mortality that made them all the more interesting. Having a short life means they have to do everything with advanced speed.’
Demons always have time on their side and he has to admit, he and his kind did do things a little bit more slowly. He enjoyed walking to a place more than flying there. Heck, even his speech pattern can be a little dull sometime as he was in no hurry to rush what was on his mind but now, he was itching and rushing to tell her his intention.
The little miko was a very intriguing person. He had never met anyone so like her. Feisty, kind, accepting and never afraid to speak her mind. Only a fool will not find her attractive and that fool couldn’t be anyone than his brother. That boy practically threw away something which can do him a lot of good.
‘Another man trash is another man treasure.’ He thought and smiled fondly at the memories of his little miko.
At first, he had ignored her but being Kagome means that you will never be left aside. She tried to make conversation with him, anything to make him talk. He found it annoying in the beginning but soon, her knowledge of what she has learnt in the future fuelled his curiosity. He enjoyed listening to her facts and what she called, science.
It doesn’t help matter when his little ward was left under her care. Rin has always spoken of her and what she did. The little girl never left any detail out and soon, he found that he understood more about the little miko.
And today is the day he will ask for her permission to be courted. As soon as he stood in front of her, his mind went blank. Kagome blinked at him. “Yes Sesshoumaru?”
Just when he found his words again, his ward darted out from behind him and took the words right out of his mouth. “Sesshoumaru-sama likes you Kagome-san.”
