Room 503, Saturday Morning

Last night  there had been a handwaved slumber-party, complete with fuzzy pjammas, movies, and popcorn.  It had been a blast, and Dōjima had fallen asleep against Romeo sometime during one of the movies.

Now, however, it was bright out.  Dōjima fully intended to stay snuggled under her blankets until the cartoons came on, but there was one small

The other occupant merely snuggled closer into his pillow, rolling away from the poking finger. "'smine," he whimpered. "Not time to get up yet."

Dōjima's eyes narrowed and she scooted closer to tug at the pillow in question. "No, s'mine. My room, my bed, my pillows."

"Nuh-uh," Romeo was adamant, eight-year-old arms creeping up to clutch the pillow against her assault. "I'm holding it so it's mine and you're a girl so I wouldn't be in your room anyhow."

"I'm not a girl, I'm a princess," was the automatic response as she glared at him. "You're just being a greedy boy, you should share."

Jen had been trying to sleep, all curled up around her pillow, but it was very hard to do that when there were people being loud.

She made an exaggeratedly loud whining noise and dramatically turned over onto her other side.

Dōjima had the good grace to look mildly ashamed, wincing at her roommate's sleepy protests. This was why Daddy was always telling her to use an 'indoor voice.'

"Sorry, Jenny," she 'whispered' loudly, trying to be good. "I'll be quiet."

Jen scowled into her pillow, but only a very little bit. "My name's not Jenny," she stage-whispered. "Do we have any cookies left? I'm starving."

"Yeah!" Dōjima shut the door behind Romeo before scampering over to carefully pull a Tupperware bin off her desk. Why did everything have to be so tall? "We gots chocolate chips and oatmeals raisens and sugar cookies."
