tim is a 3 year old mail. i adopted him when he was 2 months old from SPCA. when we leave him home alone he whimpers and destroys furniture, cushions are his favourite. our neighbours say that he is able to whimper all day long. even when only one of us leaves, he runs around and whimpers but calms down in several minutes. we also can't leave him ( Read more... )

This does not sound like separation anxiety to me. SA is a panic attack. The dog is completely freaked out at being left alone. I would not medicate this dog (based on the info you gave so far ( ... )

thanx a lot. i hope very much that you are right and he doesn't have SA. he doesn't look to me like a panicing dog, but as a lonely one. he was't trained to stay alone. when he was a puppy i was on summer holidays and stayed with him most of the time.
this morning we've tried the kong trick.it seems to me, that he hardly noticed us leaving. there was no whimpering at all!
i;m looking forward to seeing the results tonight.
