The prozac must be working because in the last week I have had more motivation, more positive thinking, more belief in myself than ever before. i found the name change forms (petition) for MO online, and filed them...it turns out there was 'something' i hadn't included, so my name change wasn't granted. i ended up getting a lawyer, and she got it done in three days. It was around $175-ish, but well worth it.

If I can't figure it out or am worried I may end up getting the lawyer and going this way, I'd rather pay a little more and know it's done right then stumble around.

The lawyer takes care of the publishing in the paper nonsense, and does all the talking for you. The first time i went to court it was very awkward...
You can definately do it yourself, just be more informed than i was :O)

This is sounding more and more like what I should probably do, just to avoid headache. A lawyer would pretty well be ensuring it gets done correctly the first time. I appreciate the input!

You might see if Greene County has a law library, and see if they have a 'sample' name change form. That's the way I did it here in Tulsa. Retyped the form in Word with my own info.

I'm glad you were able to find a good doctor in town!
