There is a big stigma with the word "retarded", but I feel like it too :/ I'll look back on a moment that I spent with someone - family member, friend, classmate, professor, whatever - and maybe I did something that not a lot of neurotypical people would slap, i.e. slap their own face with a program flier, and I'll think "Man I'm retarded." It happens, I guess.

It's because people throw it around to make it mean "stupid" or "foolish" without knowing the real meaning. It's like the word "gay" as a similar insult.

But many things can be perceived as stupid. It's not always one's fault.
