He’s blond, probably not naturally, hair all sticking up and loud, eyes squinting against the stage lights, breathing smoke out cool and even as he lopes across the stage and into place, the last one out, maybe Sam’s age and maybe his dad’s and probably somewhere in between. Black, tight pants and an old, creased, soft leather jacket, gray shirt and a million cord bracelets that tangle on each other and hide his thin wrists. He handles his guitar like it’s more familiar than his own cock.
Sam. Meet Billy. leviticus_lied liked to describe this one as her 'sex, drugs and rock and roll' piece and it totally is. But it's also got a lot of damn good characterisation and interesting writing in it.
This is a different Sam than the one I'm used to reading about, mostly because I've read so few stories set during the Stanford years. Sam's dealing with independance and the lack of Dean and he's never really had to deal with either before. Dean may not be present for most of this but there's a something of him thread all throughout this, in everything Sam does and thinks.
