I've always detested Picard, from episode 1 (of course, I detested all of them at episode 1 ... took a chunk of time before I could be dragged back, kicking and screaming the whole way, to give them another look-see after that horrific pilot!). From my POV, he's an condescending, holier-than-thou, humorless, by-the-books upper management type who lacks both the charisma and the capability for independent thought a starship captain needs in order to go where no man has gone before

I was always a Paris girl as far as Voyager goes, but I too always wished they did more with the Chakotay / Paris / B'Elanna thing. (My first ever fanfic was kinda based on that, although I wrote it before Tom and B'Elanna got together on the show!)

Still can't believe John Shiban ended up on Vamp Diaries. I kinda hoped he'd come back to SPN once he finished with that!
The way the series evolved, Paris was the only one who made it through without being eviscerated as a character. Maybe the Doc. But mostly just Paris ... because no matter how sucky the writing, Robbie seemed to have some preternatural way of making the lines sound as if Paris had actually said them rather than that Paris would NEVER say them, but they made him

I imagine I wrap a good bit of my admiration for Sir Patrick into the whole thing, but..."The Inner Light"? I CRIED at the end of "The Inner Light."
