Thanks. She was only intended to be a trilogy, but she seems to keep talking to me for some reason. I suspect because everything I wrote about she and Dean has a counterpart from John's perspective ...

Oh. *gulp* Yeah it made me cry too... I think Mrs. Jessup is probably one of my favourite OCs I've ever read in fanfiction.

I think everyone tends to think of Dean as being some kind of drop out, not caring about school, only seeing it as somewhere he has to go that stops him being with Sam or John or (later) off hunting. So it's refreshing to see a story where school is important to him - if only because of that connection he's finally made with another human being who isn't a member of his family.

Fabulous.

Thank you much. I love the idea of Dean and school in all its many incarnations. I see Dean as someone who might have hated the structure and the willy-nilly authority (as compared to earned authority) protocols and all the nitpicking bs; but who likely made some very intense connections through the venue of school, in particular, with some of the teachers he might have run into along the way who saw im for what he is rather than what the social structure sees him as.

Mrs. Jessup is probably my favorite OC in all of SPN fandom. I just love how you write her and the effect she has on the Winchester family. :)

I adore Mrs. Jessup! And John's such a good daddy, knowing he should probably ditch the town after he attracted the cop's attention but unwilling to deny Dean what Dean needs. Wonderful story!

I've found, as I've gone through the stories, that everything that happened between Dean and Mrs. Jessup has some counter story from John's perspective that tells of a completely different struggle. It's been a fun tie-in to play with.

Thank ya much. The image of John standing in the hallway outside the classroom, sweating bullets in fear of how Mrs. Jessup will respond to Dean's attempts to connect, particularly when he inadvertantly said something that changed the way Dean initially planned to approach her ... that image made me go all sniffy inside. Mr. Hero Badass Evil Killer in a freak out crisis over having possibly screwed up is son's one connection with someone who isn't family is where John lives in my heart, I think. How much weight he takes on willing and unwillingly when it comes to his children's emotional wellbeing; and how much Dean's ferocious devotion to him and mimicracy of his every attitude is potentially DEAN's choice and John's greatest fear and burden rather than the other way around ( ... )
