It's a Supernatural/Firefly Crossover! It's Cas-centric. This is the first time I have ever done a full-on Cas POV. It made for a different writing style than I am used to, trying to capture his voice - but it flowed pretty easily, which is a good sign, I hope

I know - my sister and I discovered Firefly via DVD right around the time we started watching SPN - and one day my sister was all, "And then the Serenity crew met the Impala crew and..." - so by the time I started reading SPN fic, I really did expect there to be massive crossovers - it made so much sense to me!

As I was reading, I was mentally trying to pair the characters, and who they would take to best. I have to say, if you went in the Jayne/Cas way it would have worked!
I love crossovers. I'm glad you were inspired to post this; it was excellent.

I almost went Jayne/Cas, for a second there it looked like it was heading that way - but this story really did write itself and it ended someplace else. Which really, I was yelling at myself, "You don't have to pair everyone with Jayne - just because he is your space-husband!" lol Someday I may write a good Jayne/Cas though - it would be wicked fun. And maybe I'll be not lazy and actually post the three Firefly fics I have someday too! (guess whose POVs they are all from - guess.)
Glad you enjoyed it!

Just as a matter of interest -- how did they end up there? Was it a born-in-this-world story, or a switching over type of thing? Just looking for some clarification on a fabulous read. :)

Honestly? I don't know. I kind of had an idea in my head that maybe Castiel had them transported to the future - after the apocalypse ended, to get them away from everything that was weighing them down. Because I picture Dean and Sam from our time, but obvs not the Firefly people. But why Cas would transport them to the future of space so they could end up living out in the Black doesn't make a ton of sense - but yeah, I'm going with "transported to the future as a reward for a job well done" - huh, weird, I'd never really thought about it, but I know what I pictured and that is the only logical explanation.
Look, I just totally worked that out right here. Good question. :)
