It was an excellent Thanksgiving weekend, thank you very much! I wasn't sure we were going to make it through all eight of the Harry Potter movies, but we managed to get it in. It was really something watching all eight of them in a row and seeing the progression of characters, very interesting. I hope your Thanksgiving weekend was excellent as well!

A quiet day in seems like a really good idea for everyone in your family. I mean to donate to Standing Rock when I get home. I'm at a hotel for now after a small and pretty nice dinner. We're all worried about my sister who's having trouble with self care and also we're all waiting to hear back about her latest three month check in.

Yes we all felt like we've earned a quiet weekend, even though we know it means we will have to make up for it at Christmas. But we've already planned out our Christmas and we're going to do mom and dad in the same day, one after the other, that was at my brother's request. Also it looks like The Canadians might be coming home for New Year's Eve, which will be nice. We are going to get P and C in for the night, so the four cousins can all have New Year's eve together and the adults can go to bed, LOL

it was survivable, mostly because we only spent about twenty-four hours with the west-coasters (my brother gets more arrogant and jerk-faced the older he gets, but he reined it in this year). Actually, it was pretty good, since the middle generation (us) was determined not to permit political talk at all!

However, I'm a little worried about Dad. He's usually sharp as ten surgery-ready scalpels, but he's upset by the fact that (due to his packrattish tendencies) he can't remember where he put shit three years ago. He's also starting to leave things in his giant chest freezer WAY too long. So now there's an unspoken middle generation agreement to try to clean out at least one space each time we visit. The freezer is just fucking daunting, though!
