Happy Turkey And/Or Pie Day!

Nov 28, 2013 19:30

Spent the afternoon at my mom’s, just me and my sister and her. She made all the Thanksgiving yummies; turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, stuffing, green beans, rolls and olives. Then my aunt came over and we played Scrabble. Apparently it’s the new Thanksgiving tradition, now that the gatherings are much smaller because my little brother spends ( Read more... )

Thank you! I hope you and Shiremom had a great Thanksgiving as well! (and Pip, of course!)

ahahaha OMG, you knew what that movie was! I am delighted! I went through a phase where I thought it was the funniest thing just to yell at people, "I want my two dollars!" I was like 28 at the time. Yeah. That movie is hysterical and yet so stupid. I love it.

PS: I got so excited that you knew Better Off Dead that I forgot to say, 'I hope your Thanksgiving was also good!'

I'm sorry you don't get to have family gatherings anymore. Everyone should have somewhere to spend the holidays. /hugs/

I was just thinking the other day about the huge, hours-long gatherings we used to have at my grandparents farm when I was a kid. Why is everything so different when we grow up?

Thanks for sharing yours with us :)

You are very welcome. Now onto Christmas! ;)

I had a lovely dinner with friends, but no pie. I think I need some pie.

Oh yes, you must have pie! What is Thanksgiving without pie?

We are now into thinking about making Christmas cookies already (to be fair, it is our family holiday party on Saturday and people expect my mom's Spritz cookies on the table!)

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving dinner, bb!

lol Well, now Christmas has come and gone and I am FINALLY replying to this comment. /shakes head/ But you and I have talked a few times since this on Tumblr anyway (it was really sweet to get your ask the other day over there, wondering how I was feeling and all).

My Thanksgiving was not bad actually and my Christmas was pretty good too. Both were low-key as I skipped about half the family obligations and though I did end up feeling rather ill Christmas night (the antibotics give me a stomachache) I rather liked laying in bed all night watching cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies and playing around on Tumblr. And next week I'll have a low-key New Years and then the holidays will be over and we can get back to our regularly scheduled program (literally, because our TV shows will be back - I have priorities!)

Hope all of your holidays were awesome too, bb!

I miss my TV shows too. (side note omg Chicago fire, they saved 51 but now Casey is in hospital? And I'll have to wait so long to see it)

I had a good Christmas, but like yours low key because of health. I won't be going out partying for new years, but I don't most years. Its my younger friends 21st on the 1st, so I want to try and do something around that time because it's a big birthday you know?

I KNOW, RIGHT?! Casey's fiancé gets killed, then he loses those kids he loved so much and now he's probably going to be in recovery for like a long time. Guy can't catch a break. But that means you are all caught up on the show!!! Now you have to wait like the rest of us suckers. Actually it apparently comes back tonight, which I guess means they changed the day of the week it is on (maybe to get it lined up with Chicago PD which I won't be watching because I can't stand that Voight guy). For a minute there when they were promoting Chicago PD, I got worried they might be doing a half-season of CFire and a half season of CPD, but nope, we get a full 24 eps of CFire! I can't wait to see Otis and Cruz living together!
