The Annual Summer Meet-up - Cardiff - Weekend 2
Yes, we're doing two this year. Turns out that I can't make the first date due to some terrible diary management on my part and neither could doylefan22, so we decided that we'd do a second weekend. Just because we can :D
The date of the second weekend is:
Saturday 12th August 2006
Everyone is more than welcome to join us, even if you're going to the first weekend.
We're looking at doing the Doctor Who Exhibtion and possibly some filming-stalkage if there's anything going on in Cardiff that weekend.
And there will be Party Rings cos it's traditional.

I'm getting my arse in gear. I contacted the University and got the following information back off them:

Please find below details and prices on what accommodation the University is able to offer.
Colum Hall
(No 12 on location guide) & Senghennydd Hall (No 46)
Each hall is situated a short walk away from the city centre and suitable for individuals or groups and has single en-suite bedrooms. Other facilities include:
All rooms share a fully fitted kitchen/dining area supplied with tea/coffee making facilities
Launderette
Free parking
Catering for groups
No televisions or radios are provided
Talybont (No 5)
A large complex most suitable for groups. Talybont is situated approximately a mile and a half from the city centre. The site offers a large number of single en suite bedrooms. The site also comprises of the following:
All rooms share a fully fitted kitchen/dining area supplied with Tea/coffee making facilities
Sports complex
Fully licensed bar
Shop
2 Launderettes
Free parking
There is also a 24 hr supermarket just outside the site
Catering for groups
No televisions or radios are provided

Prices for 2006 are as follows:
£20.00 per person per night for a single en suite self catering bedroom
£27.50 per person per night for a single en suite on a bed & breakfast basis
Please note bed and breakfast accommodation is dependant on other groups in at the same time.

It's going to be much cheaper than a hotel and we're going to all be together. Which'll be nice. Now I get the feeling that I'm going to have to book rooms for all of us together in oder for us all to be fairly close to each other. I'll request some booking forms off them tomorrow.
How many people are going to want to stay on the campus?
I think self-catering is going to be the best action as between a group of us it'll cost pennies buy stuff for breakfast to cvook ourselves and I'll even treat you all to The Best Breakfast In The World EverTM as I'm feeling particularly generous.
Now I think some people were thinking about coming down on Friday and will want two nights. leave a comment in this post with how many nights you're going to be wanting.
So all I need is a show of hands.

ETA 22/06/06: I have been speaking to a very nice lady called Zara at the Uni. The rooms are seperated into flats and it's a maximum of eight people per flat.
The cost will be £20.00 per night.
Currently we have one full 8-person flat consisting of __kali__ (2 nights)
doylefan22 (2 nights), neth_dugan, steviesun (1 night (Saturday)), jadekirk and your mum, evil_demandred, nogbad.
Can you let me know how many nights the rest of you are going to need and which nights (Friday only, Saturday only or Friday & Saturday)
Anyone else joining us: The flats are 4, 6 or 8 person. I'd also need someone else to be in charge of booking that room - I'll pass you on all the details.

ETA 23/06/06: I have spoken to Zara at the Uni, she's going to reserve a block of rooms for us until July 10th so we need to pay the Uni for our rooms by then.
