Writer of 'Survival' Rona Munro returns to #DoctorWho tonight with the episode The Eaters of Light. Here's a post to share what you thought of it, and some light food recipes! Enjoy.
Question about the episode. Were the things they used to drive the monster back just magnifying glasses focusing the light? Because that doesn't seem like it should work. The Doctor said this thing can eat the sun and all the stars, but focused light bothers it? Really?
Honestly this episode disappointed me. I've been enjoying the current season quite a bit. I love Bill. But this one was just not good, imo.
I think there was a lack of clarity regarding what the creature was and how it could be defeated.
I enjoyed the Picts and the setting. It made me think of other events happening in Doctor Who around the same time, i.e. the Pandorica and Jack being buried alive by his brother Gray.
Small little thing to rave about, but I liked the paint on the neolithic stones.
I was wondering the same thing while watching the episode. It eats light but is destroyed by it as well? Requires a second viewing in case I missed something, but more likely it's a gaping plot hole.
Aside from that, I like the creature and the idea of connecting lost history with the DW universe. It's something they've done well since the beginning.
Just saw it once so far, but I was a bit confused about the music at the end. Was that girl hearing the music from the TARDIS or was Missy hearing the music from the stone archway. The Doctor mentioned something about music from the future (hence music from the TARDIS)?
