OOh either I didn't know or forgot that Frank Cottrell Boyce is involved. He has good pedigree.

Right?! He's the guy that wrote the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, which is like the best thing I've ever watched.

Exactly. He and Danny Boyle worked on a little film called Millions. It never made it big, but the premise is interesting.

Well at least Chibnall has gone. That's a plus. And a few new faces in the writing team. Good to see.

My friend has watched the leaked episodes and says I should prepare myself that it is more of the Christmas special, and less of the 50th Anniversary though, in terms of quality.

So... expectations adjusted accordingly.

Hurrah for a feature length episode to kick things off with though.

At the moment, I'm torn. On the one hand, the spoilers for "Deep Breath" sound great, and Capaldi's attitude toward the Moffatizing of the Doctor seems to be mine. On the other hand...it's a Moffat script, which usually means contradiction or invalidation of recent stories, casual sexism, and showy moments with plotholes.

Maybe I should wait for the verdict on the new episode and then try to watch it at 11:00 if the response is generally favorable. BBC America usually airs the same episode three times on the same night.

this exactly. I'm kinda "meh" on if I ever even watch the show again. I've been watching longer than I remember, and like you mentioned, I'm tired of the contradictions, sexism, and plot holes. I'll add my opinion that I'm tired of every companion thinking the Doctor is their next "true love". to the list.

I really enjoyed Matt Smith's portrayal, and I don't have it in me to tune in anymore now that he's gone. I'm not suggesting that they "bring back (actor x)" in a fangirl way, that's unrealistic. with the problems mentioned above, I've grown tired of the same old thing every week.
