I was watching on BBC2, but I just gave up because it's pitched a bit too basic for me, and Brian. Cox's. Delivery. Is. Starting. To. Annoy. Me.

Probably terrific for kids though. Reminds me a bit of the old Christmas Lectures.

Hmm, good to know. I was planning on streaming it on iPlayer, but maybe I'll download it to watch it at x1.5 or even x2 speed, like I often do with astronomy documentaries. The narrators in them always speak SO. SLOWLY. IT. MUST. BE. SOMETHING. ABOUT. HAVING. TO. EXPRESS. THE VASTNESS. AND. MAJESTY. OF. SPACE. IN. THEIR. TONE. SOMEHOW.

It improved a bit towards the end I thought, they started tackling some slightly more complex ideas about black holes.

Became very exasperated with the 'celebrity' audience though, and this assumption that people will only watch a documentary about science if there are celebrities involved doing things on-stage. Could have done without all that.

The insertions with the Doctor were all quite funny however.

So I read that Moffat interview you posted...this quote is particularly interesting to me:

"The completist in me… the ‘box set man’ in me wants every box ticked and I wanted every regeneration scene!"

I mean. We haven't seen everything yet. Still missing Hurt -> Eccleston...why would he say that??

(*Very* wishful thinking about getting Nine involved, after all...)

I wondered that although I'm a bit beyond expecting Eccleston to come in. They could easily just use his image in a reflection like John Hurt or even just have a look-a-like from behind as The Name of the Doctor

That quote got me thinking the same way. :) *crosses fingers*

You are assuming Eccleston comes directly after Hurt.

"I have had many faces, many lives, and I don't admit to all of them".
