Wanna do a bit of a round-up?

It's been Doctor Who (and BBC/fandom) day on my laptop for the last few hours! And I really wanted to share just a few of my finds with you all!

First up, (and most exciting) is the Google Earth easter egg that lets you walk around the TARDIS console! And it's funny that they've used the police box on Earl's Court Rd (because, as we all know from ( Read more... )

Thank you for sharing this cool stuff! The TARDIS walk-around is awesome! You can even walk around the balcony part. I'm also loving the reviews. For the Harry Potter fans, they've recently done that with the Diagon Alley set at Leavesden.
That's a great article about the Doctor being a millennial hero, hurray. And it's always nice to listen to David Tennant. Nice to see that Broadchurch is a hit in the US.

Broadchurch is fantastic. If it hasn't gained huge US following yet, I just give it a bit of time.

As a fan of Doctor Who and a recent PhD in Geography, I heartedly approve of the google maps easter egg. :D

The more I look at the console and Time Rotor, the more I think it looks like a mix of earlier ones, going back to very early consoles. Some components remind me of Three's (which was also One and Two's?), some look like Eight's, and so on. Even the walls and arches are kind of a mix. Just me?

(OT: I'm feeling very dated right now because I can actually remember when people didn't talk on their cell phones in the library.)

I agree. I think it's the sharp, angular, metallic aspects that remind me of the classic consoles. Nine/Ten/and the original Eleven's were all more rounded, with warmer colors (coral, orange, etc).

Especially the console being angular, and the white adds to it. The first time I saw it, I did a double take, because I'd just been watching one of the classic serials.

I still miss Nine & Ten's console, but after watching One through Seven, seeing Eleven's new console gave me some warm fuzzies.
