5th Doctor: The Caves of Androzani is not only Peter Davidson's finest hour, but it is also his swan song as the Doctor. Miss it at your own peril. The only other story that you CAN NOT SKIP OVER is the classic The Five Doctors. Lots of time lords, lots of baddies, and lots of nostalgia.

7th Doctor: Remembrance of the Daleks is the one I would pick. A decently paced story, full of in-show history, and lots of action. You will also get some bang for your buck if you catch The Curse of Fenric, a story of many layers.

For the Fifth Doctor, I think most of his stories are pretty good (probably best to avoid Timeflight, which is generally regarded as sub-par). Personal favourites of mine are Castrovalva, Kinda, The Visitation, Black Orchid, Earthshock, Snakedance, Mawdryn Undead, Terminus, Enlightenment, The Five Doctors, The Awakening, Frontios, Planet of Fire, and Caves of Androzani. Yeah, that's most of them!

Sylvester...I'd avoid Time and the Rani and Silver Nemesis, but apart from that...his run generally gets better as it goes along. Highlights for me are Delta and the Bannermen (it's camp as a row of pink tents, but gorgeous), Remembrance of the Daleks, Greatest Show in the Galaxy, Ghost Light, and Survival. Other people rate Curse of Fenric really highly - it doesn't do much for me, but is worth checking out, especially the extended edition on the DVD.

I totally agree on Castrovalva, Terminus and The Five Doctors. I *adore* Peter Davison - I was at his first D*C and got an autographed picture from him for my kids. He seemed overwhelmed. Then the poor man hosted the Masquerade and *really* didn't know what he'd gotten himself into.
