Hello and welcome! I guess the show must have done something right if you found Nine's regeneration that painful. He's a fantastic Doctor, and I love his regeneration story. That said, you've definitely got a beautiful journey ahead of you. The Tenth will amaze you yet :)
Based on some comments you've left below, I'm now wondering if you're in fact talking about the 10th Doctor. Is the actor you've just watched regenerate Christopher Eccleston or David Tennant? Because Chris is the 9th, David is the 10th and Matt Smith is the 11th. Which story was it, or who was the companion?
I hear you. I was devastated when Nine regenerated that I actually lost interest in Doctor Who for a while. I just loved Christopher Eccleston's Doctor. But when I came back and gave Ten a fair chance, I was captivated again. So, give him time! :)
Welcome to the wild world of regeneration, and to Doctor Who induced sadness. Don't worry though, David Tennant does an amazing job once he gets going.
I too was devastated by the loss of 9....and then I hated 10. I know I'm in the minority, most people adore 10 - but I hated him and actually stopped watching. I'd tune in whenever Jack or River were in an episode, but for the most part I just stopped. Then I started watching again when it was 11 and ADORED him.
But you'll probably be like everyone else and learn to love 10. lol. :P.
