One of my absolute favourites across the series, and easily my fav Troughton story.

I know on one corner of the internet that I used to frequent back in the day, people who were watching the show for a lot longer than I was (me of course being a Child of Tennant) was mocked and vilified for my utter love for The War Games. They both dismissed it as utter drivel, and a half-assed attempt to fill out ten episodes. They were also the kind of guys who would complain that people who started watching in 2005/2006 had no love or respect for the classic series.

*rolls eyes*

Then they were absolute fools! Fooooooools I tell you!

Were they 70s fans? I've often encountered a strange subset who seem to think that the only good Doctor Who were the first 2 Jon Pertwee seasons and the first 3 Tom Baker seasons whilst every other era is not real Doctor Who!
