Need any reasons to collect the toys?

One thing I absolutely love about the "Doctor Who" toys is their expression.  From the highly animated 4th Doctor to the pretty grim face of the 11th Doctor, they're quite expressive.  What's even cooler is that the Daleks seem to gain personality through the lens as well.  If you're undecided about whether or not the 11 Doctors set is a smart buy, I can honestly say, "Yes!"  The detail put into their features tops a lot of toy companies that I have seen and they're true to the actor.

If you're like me and you want to build an army of Daleks but not have them be the same colour, I can reassure you that the painting process is actually quite simple and it's a lot of fun.  Your imagination is your limit, really.  I recently got in six new Daleks to customize and in this first picture is an unfinished Dalek Scout-Aldrin.  His colours are based off the silver/gold/blue Dalek in the Peter Cushing "Doctor Who and the Daleks" movie.

In my stories, Dalek Scout-Aldrin is part of a peaceful colony of Daleks who have just settled onto a new planet.  His Dalek-clan get overrun by a monster of sorts, and in the chaos, Scout wound up losing his blaster, and was left behind.  He sent out a distress signal, which the Doctor and Amy picked up in the TARDIS.  Whilst the Doctor freed Scout from  the rubble, the Dalek insisted that the Doctor address him by his proper name, which he prefers "Scout" to "Aldrin," as the Doctor kept calling him by.

It would seem that the 11th Doctor is never quite finished in saving a stranded Dalek.  Whilst up on Mt. Pilchuck over the weekend, poor Supreme Dalek got caught in a rockslide.  Gemini went to him and immediately fetched the Doctor.  Obviously, no task is too great for the Doctor and friends.

No sumit climbing for us!  Empress Astra enjoyed getting a perspective on Earth flora by journeying with me past the base camp and up the mountain trail a little.  This was an area that I hadn't been to before, as I've only been up to the base camp twice now.  As menacing clouds began to slowly wrap around the mountain, Astra and the Doctor gazed over the land in silence.

Gemini cannot help but be adorable.  He was befriended by a new toy in my collection and was allowed to wear his hat.  If Woody knew what Gemini had instore for that hat, I think he would have kept it in the room.  Another Dalek who loves to be adorable is Astra, except she just perches herself amongst flowers and tries to look innocent and pretty.

To spoil the warm atmosphere were two particularly malicious Daleks named Malefic and Hessler.  Neither thought that a proper Dalek would examine nature and declare it "beautiful" nor would a Dalek ever accept a gift from the Doctor.

"Trust me, Doc-tor!"

The Doctor had trusted Dalek Saturn V and was rescued.  From then on they were friends, although they were both a bit hesitant of one another.

"Can we keep it?"
