Possible idea concerning "The Sun"'s casting rumors...

The Sun is claiming that Rose, Martha, and Donna are all in the big 10 finale.

Now story production-wise, this wouldn't be hard to do. I mean, if RTD can manage to get those three plus countless other faces from the past into the last series' finale, then pulling just those 3 in shouldn't be much of a problem.

But storyline-wise, it'll be harder to pull off. It's stretching even the most Devoted Who fan's belief a bit to think that Rose would be yanked yet again from her parallel dimension. And while it would be fun to see her back, having Donna's memories "restored" for any reason lessens the impact of the character's prior run.

But that got me to thinking... what if these three returning, along with the Simms' Master, are all part of something in the Doctor's mind?

Obviously a regeneration story is coming up, passing the torch to Eleven. And in previous regeneration scenes, we've seen flashbacks of the companions that incarnation has traveled with.

So what if this regeneration, we dive a little deeper? The Doctor lapses into a coma or hovers near death and mental images of Rose, Martha, Donna, the Master, and possibly others come to him? They may thank him, point out his flaws, tell him what he did right, what he did wrong, whatever.

Not really flashbacks, but more the Doctor saying goodbye to each of his friends (and foes) in his mind?

Your thoughts?
