It's hard to be brave when you are only a Very Small Animal

A combination of rewatching and generally being surrounded by fandom has prompted me to write a few words about a companion who holds a special place in my heart.

Ah, Victoria. She is so neglected and I adore her so. Her depature is a million times more sad to me than Rose's in Doomsday and yes. The Doctor has never stayed behind for a companion like her before. It's really touching and lovely and... oh Victoria. :) I do love her so. :D

I have to say, I was not too impressed with Victoria until I saw Tomb of the Cybermen, and realized that she was actually kind of awesome actually. Between her adorable rapport with the Doctor in that (I haven't heard Fury from the Deep yet), and her general competence and craftiness, I found myself liking her a lot more than I had before. I think I definitely need to check out more of the Victoria serials than I had before.

(argh why do I have no Classic Who icons)

Victoria didn't really click much with me at first, either - I tolerated her, but didn't actively like her - but as I grew more acquainted with her I really fell for her!
