I've never co-written prose before, but I've done a fair amount of co-written scripts both original and fanfic and they all turned out awesome. I guess it's easier withs scripts because then it's mostly dialogue, and it can often end up approximating a real conversation when each writer takes turns providing the lines.
And like I said, I've no problem with co-writing done WELL.doctorvJanuary 22 2010, 08:00:12 UTC
Yeah, with dialogue-only/scripts it works just fine as long as you keep in mind how people actually talk to each other (for example, if someone infodumps several paragraphs worth of talking at me, I'm probably going to forget and not respond to some of it, not answer each point in exactly the order it was presented to me). Because with dialogue-only/scripts it's not really possible to have that annoying and crazy-making "play, rewind, replay" thing going on. You're having a conversation, it's happening in linear order, presumably no one's going to out of the blue respond to something that was said three pages ago without saying something like "Oh by the way, you asked what my favorite color was, it's periwinkle."
