1. I'm in the mood for AU, mi duckies. As in, I want to write some. But being the incredibly lazy person I sometimes am, I don't want to put much thought into it

"She'll totally have to say yes if I ask her out after winning the science fair."
Mike rolled his eyes. "She's not interested, Ted."
"How can she not be?" Ted demanded, still digging through his locker for whatever it was he needed that wasn't his textbook. (Mike knew for a fact that it was already in Ted's backpack.) "We're like the Prom King and Queen of geekdom. Only super hot."
"Technically, the Prom King and Queen don't have to be dating," Mike pointed out, leaning on the locker next to Ted's.
Ted huffed impatiently, then leaned further into his locker. How he managed to get his shoulders into the narrow space was a mystery to Mike, but then Ted was surprisingly flexible for someone who claimed to be the geek equivalent of prom royalty. "She's totally into me. She's just too shy to admit it."
"Shy? You are still crushing on Babs Gordon, right? The same Babs Gordon who runs the AV Club with an iron fist and once reduced a fellow geek to tears because he ran Windows on his laptop? That Babs Gordon

sodifj John Smith anything, AU or not. John Smith meeting an AU!John! (Through...a rip in the fabric of space-time, or something science-y.) Or, um, an alternate timeline where John takes up Mumu's offer to change his name right away/earlier?
John Smith: The one where Mumu picks his name.doctorvDecember 24 2009, 07:34:12 UTC
John wasn't himself lately. At least, he didn't feel like it.
Ever since agreeing to let Mumu "handcraft" a name for him, and then legally accepting it, he'd felt...off. It wasn't something that felt like a real part of him. He still found himself trying to add "epsilon" to the end when filling out forms.
Completely aside from how he felt, his siblings were refusing to speak to him. That wasn't entirely fair of them, he thought. They had never had to deal with being the third currently living member of their family to carry their first name. They had only ever had to deal with the indignity of being a Smith-epsilon, while he had been John-3 for as long as he could remember.
Regardless, he was currently persona non grata to Jinny and Heim.
It might have felt like it was worth it, at least, if the name had actually fit right. It was like wearing a new pair of shoes that hadn't been broken in comfortably yet. His new name was pinching his metaphorical toes.
"You get t' tell her," Wok told him, finally. "I gotta live with her

I love these characters so much, I swear. I think Sighing, (no longer) John (for now) asked, "Dinner tomorrow? My place?" was my favorite line. Oh John, John, don't worry. Everything will be okay, I'm sure!

"I always look good. But right now I'm blue, Beetle."
"No I'm Blue Beetle."
"I mean I'm sad."
"Why so glum, chum?"
"I'm lonely."
"You need a friend!"
"I do! If I had a friend, I wouldn't be lonely anymore!"
"But you do, Booster! Me: your bestest best pal, Blue Beetle."
"You're right! With you around, I'll never be lonely."
"You're the best friend I've ever had!"
"Hey, where are you going? I thought we were going to have a hug."
"Sorry, good buddy, I have to go talk to Max Monster about the letter 'I'."
