Author's Note: Two weeks this time, burn. :( Sorry! Thanks for the awesome response to the last chapter, really I was very tickled by it all. Chapter 9, oh this one is kinda rough. I think you'll probably either love it or hate it and either love or hate Addison and Derek (separately and together) after this. Things had to be addressed, though ( Read more... )

I like that they actually get to talk here about what happened with Mark in New York. I've always been dissatisfied with how the show explained the two-month gap between Derek's departure and Addison's decision to come after him. I'm hopeful, though, that the sentiment canon!Addie expressed-she wants a baby, but she wants one with Derek-will turn out to be true for her in this story, too. :) (I thought that bit of the abortion storyline was nicely executed: understated but plausible.)

I really like the paragraph with Derek's thoughts on how everything has gone downhill since breakfast. I actually found myself siding with him in this chapter-and that's excellent, because trying to sympathize with and like him is my biggest difficulty when reading this pairing. (I can be picky about Addison's characterization, but it's really hard for me to root against her.) Well done on that.

I enjoyed this installment. Thanks for sharing!

Aww thanks so much for that great review! Yes, I didn't like how things were just glossed over. The affair with Mark, the affair with Meredith, Addison giving up everything for him, Derek's treatment of hers. I think that Addison does want a baby but right now as she told Derek, she's suffocating and can't think clearly. They both know it's the least ideal time for a baby so she knows her options...I just think it would make sense for her to at least say it (even if she was lashing out at Derek).

I don't know if I sympathized with Derek so much in this chapter as I sorta acknowledge that hey, he's trying here. It's interesting (and heck, fun) to turn the tables on him (and her). He didn't do anything wrong in this chapter, but Addison did have to get things off her chest.

Thanks so much for reading!
