Yeah, but... I don't want to ruin your enjoyment of the episode with my qualms. I still thought bits of it were fun and silly.

I don't think nobody thinks of adoption. Nobody on tv thinks of adoption, apparently, but a friend of mine and her husband just adopted their first daughter and they're so happy and it's beautiful. It seems a bit dumb that if they HAD talked about it, they'd just write it off.

As for the separation, yeah, there's a lot of time we haven't seen where their relationship's been troubled. The problem is we didn't SEE any of it, we were just TOLD it happened. Moffat does that too often. Also I don't like being fucked with. I just... that's not how I have fun. But I'm like super happy people liked it!

Tis all good - to each their own, sweetie, i begrudge you not your Feels.

Glad you could find some stuffs to enjoy, though. I like mine kinda mind-twisty and dark with bits of silly in between, but then, I'm a weirdo, lol!!

You picked up on all the things that bugged me about this episode, too ( ... )

All of the things. There was no lead-up to their divorce apart from like a 5-second wordless scene in a web-based prequel, and then it was resolved much too quickly.

Yeah, the actual Dalek plot had holes big enough to drive a planet through. What's really interesting to me now though is that some people are talking as though whatever companion theory they've subscribed to is true, and I don't like speculating or subscribing to any fan theories because then you'll just be disappointed and possibly annoyed when it turns out what happens on the show is totally different.

Ooooh, so THAT is where she said it was a phase. :headdesk:

Yeah, NOT cool Moffat. What can I saw? He's an idiot.

I liked the episode otherwise, though.

Yeah, THAT was the phase. Moffat NO

*grumps* The thing about Moffat and the stupid things he thinks are clever that are decidedly not okay is not to get your hopes up that he won't do anything as dumb as the above; if he ever manages not to be an idiot, it's a pleasant surprise.

My enjoyment of the episode may have been slightly affected by my having livestreamed The Invasion just before and overdosing on feels. (Because THE INVASION IS EVERYTHING THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD) That being said, actual callbacks to Kembel and Exxilon etc and spotting a Two-era Dalek in there made me feel a touch more forgiving for the things that gave me qualms.
