Meep

I wanted to post before I left, but LIVEJOURNAL WAS DOWN D:

So, uhh, I live in England now. Landed yesterday morning, on my way to view some apartments today. There's something about the way the air smells here that's just beautiful. This is good. This will be good. Good.

Still sort of terrified, but good.

See, you totally survived! Unless you are a ghost writing this, in which case: apartment-hunting is the least of your problems.

If I'm a ghost, I don't know it, which is probably the best ghosty way to be, though I wouldn't mind being able to pass through walls and not having to worry about stupid life stuff like not getting hit by a bus.

Now that I *might* have a flat lined up, I feel like I'm going to throw up because I'm terrified that somehow there's going to be a computer that says no because I'm technically presently unemployed because like seriously I NEED AN ADDRESS TO GET A JOB, FUCK how do people move from one country to another I don't fucking understand *sobs with fear*

Yeah. you'd probably save a lot of money on travel passes and hygiene articles... on the other hand, you wouldn't eat. So perhaps the pain of public transport is worth it.

D: *Squish* I'm sure it'll work out, even if everything is a mess in the beginning. Quite sure there are things that take Catch-22 situations like that into consideration. KEEP CALM AND THINK FLUFFY THOUGHTS.

I almost feel like it's mostly a matter of looking a combination of confident, desperate, and really really earnest just enough that one person is willing to slightly bend a rule for you so you can get a bank account/rent an apartment/get a job, so then you can do all the other things. I'm so nervous I feel like I'mma throw up. YAY!

Thanks! This is seriously the scariest thing ever and I almost wish I'd stayed at home and not quit my job because I AM SO SCARED and it's awful. BUT I MADE IT and that's like 25% of the battle, yes?

Thanks! I'm mildly (read: very) afraid that I'm going to end up in a hostel looking at places in vain until I run out of money and have to go home because no flat = no job, and no job = no flat, and no flat = no bank account and I just AAAAAAAAAAAAAA NOPE THIS IS ALL AWFUL

Thanks! I'll admit I'm trying really hard not to panic right now because these things are really hard when you're foreign, it turns out. Meep!
