Thirty-Seventh Check-Up

Seems like we've got a lot of new people on bored.

I'm Dr. James LaPointe.  I'm the ship's doctor, so come see me if you get hurt, if you get sick, whatever.  I'm up in the clinic on deck two.

Sick of the clinic or are you stuck there a while still?

I can leave for a bit.

[brynkitten]

Meet me in the buffet? Can grab a bite there unless you're craving sushi or somethin'

I'm fine with the buffet.

[brynkitten]

See ya in a bit then.

[It takes a while for Bryn to make her way up all the flights of stairs, but eventually she finds her way to the buffet.]

[Jamie's already sitting at one of the tables. He looks up as she comes in; blushing a little.]

[brynkitten]

[The blush makes Bryn chuckle a bit. She wanders over to his table and leans down to kiss his cheek.]

Hey how goes it?

[doctoronboard]

[He smiles at the kiss.]

Fine. How about you? I mean... I know you're bored, but do you feel better?

[brynkitten]

You mean am I still binge drinking several nights in a row?

[She looks a bit embarrassed, but shakes her head.]

No. Been putting my energy into trying to keep busy and stop wallowing. Feel better but well...[She shrugs.] Still have my moments. S'been pretty lonely lately.

[Which was why she was so happy to see Jamie. It felt good to be around him again.]

Maybe you just need to talk to people a little more. On the network and stuff. I mean, I never try making friends but...

[brynkitten]

I've made a few friends I just...Dunno.

[Bryn walked over to the plates, starting to load them up with a variety of foods and such.]

Why don't you try to make friends?

[doctoronboard]

I don't know.

[He shrugs as he follows.]

There just doesn't seem to be a point.

[brynkitten]

I imagine there doesn't seem much of a point since well, we're only here temporarily aren't we?

[Bryn hadn't been hungry when she started for the buffet, but all the walking up stairs had worked up her appetite. As she'd never been self-conscious about what she ate or how much, Bryn continued to pile food onto her plate. The next thing she saw always looked better than the one before.]

Hm, has no one ever stayed on board, upon reaching the Golden Shore?

No. Why would you? It's paradise.

[Jamie was taking almost as much as Bryn - his appetite had been shaky since he moved in with Haine.]

[brynkitten]

[Bryn shrugged.]

That would depend entirely on someone's definition of paradise but...

What if someone were to become attached to a crew member?
