Interesting indeed...wonder why. Maybe the Anniversary and Xmas Special will be in their own sets? Or maybe the 2013 Xmas Special will be part of the 8th Season.

*HUGS*

There have been rumours that S8 is going to be 12 episodes long and air next summer into fall (2014). It would stand to reason that the anniversary special and this year's Xmas special would be part of s8, thus another 14 episode block just as all the others have been.

I'm kind of glad that I shelled out for the seperate parts of s7, if only to have legit copies to watch before the complete season was released given how long it's taken to come out. The first 5 episodes of the series will be a year old by then, and the first Christmas Special even older than that. I won't be selling off the earlier sets until I am 100% sure that I won't be losing any extra stuff.

Neat- I was actually starting to wonder when there'd be news of the complete series 7 boxset. I was kinda wishing we'd get a gag reel, but eh *shrugs* - I'll take what I can get.

The s7 has been available for pre-order from Amazon without any info or release date since like April, I think. At least it looks like we're gonna get some behind the scenes stuff since there's no more Confidentials to be had (although I always hated the 'cut down' versions)

I have to admit- I'll be surprised if we get more behind-the-scenes clips- than just what's already been put up on the internet after every single episode was first aired. (yeah- considering some of the funnest bits of the episodes were cut out- and the only full confidential episode we got was the one for 'A Christmas Carol'. I'd been at least hoping they would've kept in the ending montage (with Frank Sinatra's "I Did It My Way" being sung) from the confidential for TWORS) but nope- I don't think they left it in.)

Yeah, I was wondering if it'll just be the stuff offered up online or something a little more substansive. I don't expect Confidential level stuff (sadly :() but maybe a few more scenes or interviews or...something?

I honestly think that one of the reasons S7 didn't go over as well with the fans (including the response to Clara) is because we didn't see the beyond the scenes stuff and didn't get to see her and Matt connect the way we did with Matt & Karen and Matt & Arthur and Matt & Arthur & Karen & Alex. :-/

I think more than likely we'll get an Anniversary set with the 50th, Christmas 2013 and the Gatiss biopic, along with some extras like the Doctor Revisited programmes and stuff, released in January or February 2014. Like we did with the 2009 specials.

Yeah, that sounds very possible, although it seems kind of ridiculous from a narrative standpoint not to include the Anniversary special in the same set as The Name of The Doctor, if only because it should answer the cliffhanger from NotD.

I've been seeing rumours that the Proms might be released on dvd as well -- I really really wish that both the 2008 and 2010 shows would be released in their full glory. I know at least one of them was released in a cutdown version on one of the Gap Year Specials (was it "The Next Doctor"?), but it would be nice to see the whole thing uncut! (Well, on a proper dvd or blu-ray. ;))

TVShowsOnDVD.com had that yesterday, but they pointed out it's clearly a mockup since both the BR and DVD versions had the same number of discs and the BR box had the 'dvd' symbol on the side. But that looks about right for the artwork.

can't say I'm impressed -- and I'm also slightly peeved that Rory's been relegated to a tiny head coming out of Amy's hip! I'm of the opinion that he should have equal status to all the other companions.
