Moffat seems to be working his way through the elements with his Christmas specials. We've had fish-bearing stormclouds, acid rain and now evil snow. Poisonous frost, next?
I saw these earlier and am excited for the special, despite my better judgement (The last DW Christmas Special I really truly liked was "The Runaway Bride"). If nothing else, I'm looking forward to the Vastra/Jenny and Strax show, plus Richard E. Grant (he looks so wonderfully eeeevil in the trailer), and of course all of the Oswin/Clara/Whoever she is goodness we can get.
I'm waiting for the Moff to make fluffy pillows and comfy blankets sinister too... by the time he's done, there will be nothing left that's safe to little kids!
I suspect it's wishful thinking, but I already am desperate for a "Great Detective" series, or at least a few tele-movies or novels or audios. Because I really really want to see more Vastra in action! (Of course, it's obvious that the Moff -- with help from Mark Gatiss given that he wrote the other Vastra/Jenny n' Strax story starring Diana Rigg -- is parodying himself a bit in terms of the whole extraordinary Victorian Detective With An "Average" sidekick thing. Which I think is brilliant.)
Damn, that boy can wear clothes. That's an enormous furry-halo hooded parka worn indoors, over a stretched-neck t-shirt. Would anyone care to tell me how that is any less ridiculous than the Gallifreyan head-dress things that everyone knows are ridiculous? And why he doesn't look ridiculous?

Jenna is adorable. And she and Matt are trolling like mad.
And YES, Basil of Baker Street. MY CHILDHOOD. ♥
