Our Arthur will be starring as Gulliver in an adaptation of Gulliver's Travels for BBC Radio 4 starting this Sunday. The gentleman who did the adapting, Matthew Broughton, has a blog entry about it here:

Gulliver's Travels - Classic Serial

He was kind enough to include a picture of Arthur in the recording studio, wearing--le gasp!--a plaid shirt.

could listen for hours, aural sex, broadcast news: non-who, beards are cool, brainy spex, specs appeal in spades, radio, arthur darvill, heads up post, audio adventures, holy mother of hnnng dat beard, plaid agenda, news, why so sexy arthur?

CANNOT. WAIT.

Man is amazing in radio plays. His Keith Moon was brilliant.

I've been looking for a good, full adaptation of Gulliver for my homeschooled daughter. Is there a way for us in the US to listen in? Or a chance that downloads might be available?

I think I've read somewhere that the radio part of BBC iPlayer can be used in the US

Yes, you can definitely listen live. And I'm sure one of us will download the podcasts. :D

AWESOME. I'm glad they're adapting the whole thing. It annoys me probably a lot more than it should that people think Gulliver's travels consists of the Lilliput story and that's it.

I have the same irritation over people thinking The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is the only Narnia book.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS EXCITING.

Though NGL I only got into Gulliver's Travels because I had to use this really weird math book based on it during a "math enrichment" class in sixth grade. I will always remember that weird math book fondly.
