I'm wearing tweed right now. Would never have worn it if it wasn't for 11. I must say, the silly outfit was what convinced me in the end that Matt Smith was the right choice for the doctor! I don't know why but I couldn't see him as the Doctor in the dark moody shots they released first where he wasn't even in costume. I didn't find him doctor'y at all! Now...I'm dressed like him...
interesting fact, last week there was an article in the Belgian newspaper about how 'bowties are cool again'. They referred to local artists wearing them and making them supercool again but NO mention of how Matt Smith clearly started all of this. Shame on you newspaper!
My initial reaction to the picture was excitement because they were in costume. It was starting to seem real; the Eleventh Doctor and Amy were here. I wasn't immediately sold on the tweed but it grew on me very quickly. He looks like a mad old professor in a young man's body. I loved Amy's outfit; the green really suits Karen and I liked the trainers. Overall, I pretty happy with it.
I loved the outfits right away. I love the soft tweed on Matt, and it really suits the gentler personality of this Doctor. It's interesting to me that this incarnation has shed the physical/ psychological armor of the black leather jacket and the long brown coat. And then you have the whimsical flourish of the bow tie and rolled trousers ("I grow old, I grow old, I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled"--OMG, why the HELL didn't I think of that one sooner?!??!?) and the very practical footgear

Plus, of course (as that thread reminded me): I grow old, I grow old, I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.

Also Karen looked ADORABLE!

And I'm pretty sure the tweedy get-up (in the trailer) was one of the things that convinced me to try out this season.
