As a lot of you have probably noticed, there are tons of spam bots going around LJ communities in the past few days.
There are multiple 'users' who seem to be targeting certain types of communities.  The first day I saw them, it was the same 'user' in multiple British television communities and the next day, I saw a different 'user' in multiple

With the spam bots, it's probably unrelated, but on one of my comms I keep getting a lot of comments from (different) users in Russian :S happened to anyone else...?

I got a random Russian comment in an old personal journal that is in no comms the other day. So weird.
And a couple months ago here, we were getting multiple one-line nonsensical Japanese comments on a few entries.

It's so weird! I've had about five or six comments now? It's odd!

I'm not sure what I ought to do about it though, it seems silly to report it as they're only comments... but I don't know. It's a little irritating.

Delete the comments and mark them as spam. That'll generate a report, and the Powers that Be will investigate the accounts/IPs and ban if necessary.

And I've had a couple of spam commenters on an icontest.
Stupid thing!!!
