Is Alex your new favourite crush?

Thanks to that banner - oh yes XD

And I think she would have been a great regular companion. I love the chemistry between her and Eleven.

Have you seen any of Alex' previous work, and if so what would you recommend to others? Slightly embarrassing admission here (but testament to Alex in a way). I don't know how, but I hadn't worked out that she played River until after this embarrassing event: My husband and I were watching Flash Forward one day and as one we started speaking. I said 'Oh, look, it's Alex Kingston' and he said 'Oh, look, it's River Song' and I stared at him in shock because I didn't recognise her as River. This is highly embarrassing because I've been watching her for years. Back when she was with Ralph Fiennes I was a fan of both of them so much that I had pictures of the two of them on my walls. I saw her (very minor) role in The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (awesome movie, but very gross and dark) and saw several of her other roles as well. My favourite would have to be Mrs Bennett in Lost in Austen because I love that series. It was so much fun. I still can't believe I didn't recognise her as River after having seen Time of ( ... )

Ahahaha, that tidbit of yours made me laugh! I always knew she was in DW, long before I'd seen her as River (I only started watching DW this series.)

I loved her in Lost in Austen. And ER!

I had no idea she was in Lost in Austen until I read this comment. People have been telling me to see it for ages, but I would've got onto it a lot quicker had I known this.

Oh you have to! She's wonderfully hilarious as Mrs Bennett. Plus, you'll never read/look at P&P in the same way again!

I most certainly have seen some of Alex's previous work and have been a huge fan of hers for years. I first saw her in The Fortunes & Misfortunes of Moll Flanders where she was funny, hot and utterly adorable. I highly recommend it. Ditto Croupier (She and Clive Owen burn up the screen together), Boudica (aka Warrior Queen). I've actually never seen her give a bad performance.

She's not my new fave crush -- she's a 15 yr old one. ;)

I love her as River and I love River. It's awesome to me that a woman 11 days younger than me can blow everyone off the screen with her sex appeal in every episode she was in.

I forgot about the Croupier, that was a good film :)

I haven't been able to get my hands on Boudica yet, but am soooo looking forward to it!

I really want to see Moll Flanders. Annoyingly the local library doesn't have it so I'll have to buy it. She was a LOT of fun in 'Lost in Austen'.

I'm *totally* gay for River/Alex!

I think Alex would make a great Time Lord (Romana III).

Romana III looks like Louise Brooks though. At least. That's what they say.
But I don't think Alex would make a good Time Lord, she's too much of a BAMF :D

The writers of the EDAs that feature Romana III, apparently.

She doesn't appear in many episodes, but still awesome nonetheless.
